How’s Your Health? Take My Assessment!

What You Do Today Will Matter Tomorrow

This is the time of year when we put a lot of work into thinking on how to survive the holidays without the extra weight following us into the new year. Mindful choices and planning ahead are key. You need to have an awareness of your holiday schedule so you can plan meals and snacks and how you are going to handle them. Review those invitations, pick and choose the ones you will attend, you don’t have to go to all of them. On the days you will be going to an event, eat something healthy and fulfilling before you go, never show up hungry, that is as recipe for self sabotage. Plan some extra time to hit the gym or do a home workout in the morning to get your head in the right frame of mind. Water is your friend so make sure you hydrate at the event, know if you are truly hungry as sometimes you are truly thirsty.

Everyone enjoys holiday gatherings, so enjoy your friends and family and make that the focus of your attention. It is easy to get lost in the buffet or at the cocktail bar but remember, conversation does not add weight and this is a great time to catch up with those you care about.

So it is true, keep your servings and portions under control, plan in advance and you won’t have to worry about taking off those 5-7 pounds of holiday/winter weight. Enjoy the holidays and live  your best life now.
