During this 4th of July holiday season take time to be thankful. Be thankful for your freedom, your life, your family and friends and your health. When you think of good health and wellness do you realize being thankful is a part of wellness?
Every day, at least once a day, spend a few quiet minutes with your higher power thanking him/her for the good things in your life. It is best if you find some quiet time so you can focus on the positive, my time is during my daily run. That is when I thank my God for the beauty he has created, my good health and the body he gave me to take care of. I list each of my immediate family members and thank him for their love and add friends who lift me up and walk along side of me. This is also the time I am thankful for the military and their families, freedom is not free so I am thankful for their bravery and commitment that allow me to run freely without worry and for doing all they can so we can live a safe and happy life.
When you think of health and wellness it is easy to put your thoughts on weight loss, strength and nutrition but a big part of wellness is being thankful. This can also trigger you to do good deeds. When you take a pause and thank your higher power you find the happiness that is inside of you making each day brighter. That’s when the magic happens.
